History of the internet.
The Internet was the result of some visionary thinking by people in the early 1960s who saw great potential value in allowing computers to share information on research and development in scientific and military fields.,First was proposed by a global network of computers in 1962, and moved over to the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) in late 1962 to head the work to develop it. Leonard Kleinrock of MIT and later UCLA developed the theory of packet switching, which was to form the basis of Internet connections.
Telegrams
A telegram is a communication sent over a telegraph. Really a telegraph operator receives the communication, and then writes it out for the recipient. Telegrams can also be transmitted over the phone. Before the widespread use of phones and the Internet for communication, telegrams were the best way to convey information in a hurry; today, telegrams are quite rare in most parts of the world, and people in the West can sometimes actually have trouble finding a company which can send and receive telegrams.
How we communicate with people today!
So now we have cell phones,house phones, email, skype and things like that. So it is easy to call peoople in different countries eg America, England ect. We dont
have to walk over to someones house and speak to them. I also love skype. If you want to talk to your family overseas you just buy skype put it on your computer and
its free so you can see around there house the persons face well it certainly changed my families life.
How did people communicate in the past?
Well when my mum was a kid she didnt have emails, skype,mobile phones,texting or computer nothing like that. Usually the had an old fashioned telephone or had to
walk over to someones house to talk to them so the couldnt contact family in different countries easily as we can now.
My dad said it changed his life because it is easier to talk to people in different counteries and that are family. Sometimes he does miss posting letters and old phones
but he sometimes sends letters and looks on trade me for old phones but they are very rare which is no suprise.
Sci Tech
Wow finally we have finished our Sci Tech label and soon we will have it all done it lods great we are so glad and so relivied. We have changed the name and picture again it is called Bubbly Butterfly. Right now Miss Eliss is putting the things in the hall.

Today my group figured out what we shall have on the spray bottle. We had to figure how much it would :$4.00 we also figured out the chracter which is a butterfly and flowers
we had to figure out what should the title be which is its clean beautifu butterfly and we made a catch frase. One of the most important thing the scent which is citrus. We have
also finished well Katrina and I our classify map for What different types of bacteria is there. It looks amazing it is now in the published book and looks outstanding.
Sci Tech
For the class project we are making kitchen spray to kill bacteria. This week we made an experiment with Dominic's hand. We put it in the Petri Plates which had just been sent to us. Then his han went on the wobbly agar.
We closed it up with cellatape and put it upside downwards. Then kindly Mr. Jacksone lent us his microscope and we can know see the bacteria and condenseation.
Sci TechFor Sci Tech my group's question is What different types of bacteria is there? We are going really well. We found out that Salmonella and E,coli and one of the
most worst kitchen/food bacterias there is. We found out that the are the juices of raw food that are left on the plate and when the plates are washed they are still
on there. I think my group is going well. Emelia is the Manager, Katrina is the Reporter, Sam is the ICT and I am the Scribe.
SPEECHES
For my speech I am doing why tearchers make students do homework. I thought I did eally well when Miss Ellis and Ida judged me.
And to all the people reading my wiki i loved all of your speeches as well. I thought i had a good chance of winning but Pearl and
Emelia took my place. But on the good side they really deserved it.
Holiday
In my holiday i went down to Taurangi. It took us 5 hours to drive there. First we went to Hamilton then Huntly then to Taupo and finally to Taurangi. While we were in Taupowe had lunch at SUBWAY ( eat fresh) and it was delicious. When we got to the bach we got out all of thestuff from the car and took it inside. Then i lay out all my thing on the floor neatly. OOOps i forgot to tell you something our friends went up on Sunday and we went up on thursday and when we arrived they were out at Mt. Ruapehu. I was the lucky i got to sleep on
the top bunk the Daniel slept on the botton bunk and then my brother and hi friend got to sleep on two normal beds. While we were there we went to Mt. Ruapehu and went sledding we went on the Fokapapa side of the mountain. Near the end of the day Mum and i went on a sled and we went really fast and at he end we hit the ice wall and i got stuck in the rope and sterted to cry. i was lucky because i got to go on the ski chairs thingimibob. then on another day we went to the hot pools it was really hot. I had a fantastic holiday.

Today we are doing making our masks for our asembly its so much fun i was working with olivia and her mum
CUTRAL SHARING DAYFor cutral Sharing Day i shared how my family loves Cooking because they do.( This is the speech that i did.) I cook with my brother every Tuesday night we usually cook yummy things and at home we have a whiteboard that has the meals that we have in the week and on Sunday since my dad is from England he usually cooks us a roast dinner. Then usually at the weekends me and my mum sometimes find a cool cook book and bake stuff for our lunch boxes i like to make brownies and cookies mostly sweet things. Sometimes i get annoyed because we dont have the ingredeince we need. While i was doing my speech because i got a bit nervous but i was fine ( I think)
DANCE
In these last weeks Room 26 topic is Creativity through Dance and Masks. Today we did it and the music we danced to was James Brown here is a pictures of him
Garden 2 Table
Yesterday we did G 2 T. I was in the cooking group and we made the Spinach, Tomato Curry. In my group is Ida, Nathan, Henry and Tom. We first grated the potatos and i got to chopp them, then we cut up onions. Our eyes started watering you shouldv'e seen Nathans eyes his whole face went red and his eyes went blood shot but when he went outside his eyes went back to normal. Then my eyes started watering and my face went red and i had to go oustside a couple of times after that
Painting Today we did painting in class not just ordainary painting special painting! First we had to get newspaper on our desks so we didnt get paint them! First Ms. Eliss showed us an example because we didn't really know what to do because they are new paints. We did it differently because we did styles we had to do wet on wet , wet on dry and dry on dry it sounds pretty easy but for the first time its not. First we practiced on special paper and then we did it in our art book. For the pieces of paper we had to use sea kind of colours like green and some blue and a little bit of purple. We had to leave them down on the floor to see what the result would be after they had dryed in our art book we had to half our book and on one side we did wet on dry and on the other side we did dry on dry. I painted flowers.It was so much fun.
EOCT WEEKOn Thursday 16th March all the year 5's went to the Wave Pools. It was so much fun!!! I was in a group with Paddy, (Pearls mum) Pearl, Ida and myself. We first got on a massive bus with about 60 kids or even more it was a really fun ride. Then we finally reached the Wave Pools. We hopped off the bus and went inside , First we got changed then we got in the pool. But the rule was to stay with your group for the whole time. About fifteen minutes later there was a whistle blown and a speaker called it was for the WAVE. I quickly swam down the end so i could feel the massive waves. Finally it came the wave yes it came and it was huge it went on for about five minutes i would say the wave stopped but before the wave stopped my group went on the hydroslide because there was no line it was really fun!! I went down wtih Ida because she was a bit nervous. We finally got up to the top of the hydroslide. When it was our turn we quickly sat down and Ms. Bryant said once the green light went she would take a photo. So the green light finally flashed and we went down but first Ms. Bryant quickly took a photo!! We were so shoked how fun it was. Somehow Ida speed in front i keeped saying Ida Ida wait up. We finally got down and Pearl and Paddy were waiting for us at the bottom and they both said stuff like how was it or was it fun and basically said OF COURSE. We got out of the slide and we hopped in the spa pool. We got out 1. Because it was to hot and 2. The was a disabled lady the got in the pool and we thought we were scaring her because she looked a bit unconfortable. We quickly hopped back in the pool and there was another wave. After the wave we got up on the stood on a stand and we got to jump in the pool. Then at 12.30 we had to leave:( i was sad we had to leave.
